Wedding Entertainment Ideas
0Anyone planning a wedding will want their big day to be an event that people talk about and share fond memories of for years to come. This is why lots of couples are now looking for something extra special to entertain their guests. Here are some of our favourite ideas.
Chocolate Fountains
In the early 2000’s chocolate fountains burst onto the wedding scene and became the must have attraction for any celebrity wedding. Soon it wasn’t only celebrities using them, up and down the country their popularity spread and they have become a must have attraction for anyone hoping to impress their sweet toothed guests. These are sure to make an impact as the centrepiece on any evening buffet table and are usually supplied with sweets and fruits for dipping.
Candy Carts
Another sure fire way to be a hit with guests both young and old is to provide a candy cart. They can be hired out from wedding entertainment companies with the sweets and candy scoops although they are certainly something that most people would be able to make themselves on a budget. This is a way of offering your very own pick n mix to those sharing your day and can even be used as alternative to the traditional wedding favours. If you look around there are personalised candy bags available and even personalised pick n mix stands. You could use your favourite sweets from your childhood or even try to incorporate your colour scheme into the confectionary you choose.
Photo Booths
A fun alternative for your evening reception is to hire a photo booth. These are usually supplied with humorous props such a giant glasses, blow up guitars, funny hats etc. We at Your Wedding Pro have been to several weddings with photo booths recently and they definitely were a hit with all the guests. The photos are printed there and then, 1 for the bride and groom and 1 for the participants. A great idea is to stick them into the guestbook next to the message they have written. In fact you would probably find you have lots more guestbook entries because of the draw of the photo booth.
Roulette Tables
Add a bit of Vegas glamour to your evening with a roulette table. These are certainly a fun way to keep guest entertained. A Croupier is normally included in the price and will be on hand to explain the rules. Roulette is a very easy table game to pick up, even if someone has never played before. Your guests would all receive some fun money to play with and sometimes the hire companies will offer prizes for the person with the most fun money at the end of the night.
Caricaturist
You used to only find Caricaturists on beaches and entertainment areas on holiday but now days there are many who are providing fantastic entertainment for wedding guests. They usually work the dinner or reception tables drawing novelty sketches of guests. These are sure to be a real ice breaker for those who are unfamiliar with others on their table and of course they get to take the portrait home as a fantastic memento of your special day.
Close up Magicians
Magicians are not just for kids birthday parties. These days celebrities like David Blaine and Dynamo have increased the popularity of magicians and proved there is so much more to magic than the cheesy cliché of pulling a rabbit out of a hat and waving a magic wand. Close up magicians are being hired to amaze and entertain your wedding guests at their tables. Both the young and old will be left speechless wondering how the tricks were done or if it really was magic.
Of course there are many other ideas for wedding entertainment, but these are what we currently feel are the most popular, affordable and the ones that are sure to make a huge impression at any wedding.
